My name is Elizabeth! I think it's classically a pretty name, but I definitely think it's a tad long. I've gone by Lizzie my whole life and now I'm 26 and still go by Lizzie. I can't get rid of it!

I love the name. It has beauty to it and authentic. when I here Elizabeth it reminds me of a glamorous queen or princess of England from the early 1600's. With that name you have alot of options for a nick name. Lizzy, Beth, Liz, Queenie...ect. The name's origin is Hebrew and it means God is my Oath. I have a friend and she has always wished that her name could be Elizabeth Smith, it has that sort of sound to it that makes it sound like the two names belong together. Hope that Helps!!!!!!! If your having a child and that's what you want to name her, that's a great decision because the name is beautiful. No doubt that the child will also be beautiful.

I use name association with all that I meet.
This way, I can remember anyone 3-12 mos
later. I think of an Elizabeth as a queen in
her own way.

I knew a beautiful girl named Elizabeth but she was very reserved and proper and I think her name made her that way, I think if she just went by Beth it would have been different.

Very regal, English and rather old-fashioned, especially when people will, inevitably, shorten it to Liz.
