Why is there growing number of Evangelical " Christians " ?

Is it because people are looking for the answers to all the difficult and and unaswered questions in this world and the Evangelical leaders and Churches " give " them those answers without the people having to actually think for themselves ?

The first question why is there an ever growing number of Evangelical " Christians" and Evagelical Churches ?

In the past the Mainline Churches have always done a fairly worthy jobf teaching of about Christ, why now are people gravitating towards Extremist " Churches " ?

Actually Mainline Churches have done an above average to Excellent job of teaching of and about Christ and his Truth.

Just because the Evangelical Churches and their leaders encourage people to read the Bible doesn't mean that they want their followers to think for themselves, or that their followers actually do think for themselves. They are told " Open your Bibles to such and such a Chapter and/or Verse of a certain book in the Bible and there is your answer, GOD's answer, worry not for it is the TRUTH, and it will never fail you. If those same people are asked to comment on something their answer is ALWAYS " The BIBLE SAYSSSSS !!! " never really ever given any thought to the answer they give and often avoid or skirting around the question or questions that they are ask. The Evangelicals get postively outraged when they are even asked to give their personal, NOT what the Bible says , answer to a question or questions.

Mav thinks that everyone was made to worship, and everyone is searching to worship the thing that most fills them.
Jesus will fill every part of you, all the emptiness inside. As you give yourself over to Him, Jesus fills your very essence.
Mav struggles with the 'feel good' evangelical mega churches that have cropped up all over the place. She is not sure if they aren't more about telling the people what they want to hear, and worshipping the Pastor of the church more than the Jesus he/she is supposed to be serving.
For example, say something bad about Joyce Meyer, or Joel Olsteen and see what happens.

Because they have the Truth, and many have come to recognize it.
The question you might ask is - why are evangelicals despised and ostracized above all the other religious groups ?
I believe the reason is that our enemy, Satan, is much more concerned with slandering them than any other group, because they are the ones who pose the greatest threat to his kingdom.
As for the people thinking for themselves, I don't know of any other group that encourages their people to read the Bible themselves more than the Evangelicals.
