Take your mom out some place really special. There is no point in her sitting at home, this will cause her to be even more sad. Maybe go to her favorite restaurant, or a play, or take her to get her nails done. Something fun, that all of you will enjoy! Best of luck!

Take her out to celebrate in memory of your father. I think doing something to show you remembered is a great idea. If left alone, she may just become more depressed and desperate. Maybe have her get all dressed up and you go out to eat? Take her to a local classical music concert? Something special would be nice. Good luck, and I am sorry about your father.

Just go and visit her, probably take her to lunch or something. Nice gift would be nice, like an old photo blown up and framed
