It would depend on personality. I think I would go nuts with someone you so gently call "not-so-smart" and the looks wouldn't sustain the relationship. By the same token, if the smart person were mean, I wouldn't want that either. So if the personalities were both a type I could get along with, I would have to say the smart, average looking person as looks only go far and I want someone that can hold up their part of a conversation.

Smart with an average look.
Smart girls=high pay. Her high pay+mine high pay means a easier life, and the ability to raise more kids in comfort. Smart girls also means she can work independently and need not seek my advise 24/7 which can be very bothersome when you are trying to judging a few things at the same time. Looks aren't so important, whats more its not that she is hidous.
You can have a hot girl but 10-20 years later her looks will be gone too. Not-so-smart means she will rely on you all the way and on everything which I don't really like. Ever had someone whom repeatly ask you "dumb" questions when you are really tied up trying to solve problems?

depends on the girl......
you will know wether you would like an average looking smart girl or a not so smart hottie......
there are just some people who you'd like to go out with and there are some who you dont even like to talk to even if they are hot.....

idk its wierd i think all guys have certain things they look for in girls that make them hot. b/c i know that sometimes when i say wow that girl is hot, my friends will be like no not really. umm it is important to me that a girl is pretty smart so i can actually hold a conversation with her, but she needs to have that something that makes her seem hot to me. idk
