I was advised by a dietitian to rub wash the potato well, dry it, use a fork to make some holes in the skin, rub just few drops of olive oil into the skin, then wrap it in foil and bake it. Nutrients can be lost in the water when boiling. Fats are added when frying. Baking maintains the nutrients and doesn't add fats. A problem with potatoes can be what you add to them -- butter, sour cream, etc.

Potatoes aren't very high in calories, and I'm pretty sure they're fat free. I'd say bake or boil them. If you want to make skinny mashed potatoes, boil your peeled potato chunks til done and easy to break apart, drain, mash up with some skim milk, salt, pepper, and maybe a tablespoon of margarine and there you have it. Very low cal. If you want a baked potato, go ahead. Just use low-fat cheese (don't get fat-free, it tastes like plastic) and a small amount of margarine. Load up on chives or other veggies, they're usually negative cals. Potatoes aren't bad, starches do have a place in your diet.

If you are on a weight reduction diet plan, potatoes are almost taboo since they are almost completely starch and have little or no fiber. Better to choose some other foods that have more balanced nutrition and have fiber.

If you must eat potatoes, boiling or baking them and eating them with their skins is better but I am not sure that it will be feasible.

Boil it pal, try to eat whatever in boil, grill, aviod too much red meat, white meat better, have okay amount of rice, more frequent meals, but less in every amount. Do more exercise, best if could make it daily. Do it and take a shower then go to sleep, it makes you sleep well too. :)

All takes time..
