If you like to move around the Navy is the place to be. You will have a Sea/Shore Rotation (ex: 3 yrs on Sea Duty/ 3 yrs Shore Duty). Depending on your rating, you will spend no more than 3-4 years at any single command. That is not to say that your next command won't be in the same geographical area. While stationed on a ship you will most likely make a 6 month deployment to either the West Pacific / Indian Ocean or a 6 month Med Deployment. On these you will have a chance to have port calls in several different nations.

Glad you asked. I spent 20 years in the Navy, went around the world 11 times, seen 82 different countries. Learned 2 foreign tongues and seen things on land and at sea that people would only dream of. Having a girl in every port helps also.

I took the ASVAB twice to get my electronics score up, so I could go into Avionics Communications. I joined the Air Force and the first place I went was Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas for Basic Training, then to Keesler AFB in Biloxi Mississippi for Tech School. Mississippi in the summer is a miserable place to be, all humid and tons of mosquitos.
Be aware that no matter what your skill is, you will be sent where you are most needed. I wanted to be stationed in my home state of Arizona, but was originally assigned to Kadena Japan. When they found a base that needed both me and my husband, we wound up in Fairbanks Alaska, freezing our butts off.

My best friend's boyfriend is in the Navy, as was a family friend of mine. The BF is stationed in Italy at the moment, while my friend's ship went between the Gulf (yes, THAT Gulf) and Australia.

Either one is a good choice. Any branch is a good choice but with those two, you stand more of a chance to not see action. I was in the Marines and I wanted action but any branch is a good call.

Both are good options. Personally, I would love to fly one of those F-18's. Either branch offers that!! But be ready to launch some sidewinders at those mother-------!!!

Well, it depends on what kind of jobs you would like to do. Some branches have more or fewer job types. That should be your primary thought.
