Viral pink eye?

I just had bacterial pink eye about two weeks ago, i was prescribed eye drops and to do three drops in the infected eye for 1 week i did that for about 3-4 days and my eye cleared up, so i stopped using it, but now i have the symptoms of viral pink eye, could this have somthing to do with me not taking my drops as prescribed? or is it just bad luck?

Anytime you are prescribed antibiotics, you should finish them as prescribed. When you dont, the infection can come back, but you will be more resistant to that antibiotic, so it will not work as well if at all. So yes, it could be from not finishing your antibiotics. Bottom line- ALWAYS take any kind of antibiotic for the time frame prescribed, no matter if it gets better before the time frame is up! Hope this helps. Oh yeah, get some more antibiotics (make sure you do not touch the dropper to your eye) , use warm rags over your eyes, and wear sunglasses when outside in the sun.

personally, I don't ever use eye drops for anytype of eye problem. If you can put some faith in alternative medicine...go buy some "golden seal" powder at a health food store...you only need a little bit...just buy a small amount, it's cheap too. Boil maybe 2 cups of water...turn heat off....add maybe 1/4 teaspoon of the goldern seal to the boiled water, stir.....let cool......find a glass container (jar) or ceramin, stone ware, NOT plastic....get a cloth made out of cheese cloth...if not use a WHITE wash cloth (it will stain) place in over the jar or container . This cloth will prevent the granules that did not dissolve from going into the jar....when the liquid is in the jar....have a Stealized eye dropper handy & insert some of the golden seal liquid into the eye daily for

Probably because you didn't finish the medication as prescribed by your doctor. Now, your likely to have caused the bacteria to be more resistant to the anti-biotics that you were prescribed.. good luck and please finish all meds as prescribed by doctor even if you feel better.

You have not followed the doctor's advice to use the new and fresh bottles of drops as required.Start using it now,meanwhile wear goggles if you go out and stay indoors.

it is because , you did not take the medicine as you should have. Be good to yourself, use meds, as doctor says, and use all of it. hope you get to feeling better soon.
