Here is a sample of what I have but I need some help with it:

Thank you for thinking of us on our special day. We're sorry that you could not witness our marriage but we very much appreciated the special gift you sent us.

Say witness our "ceremony" and maybe mention them not being there to celebrate with you at the reception -- you could just lump it all in under "wedding". e.g. "We're sorry you could not attend our wedding but we very much....".

I would not say sorry you could not come. On ours I said, thank you for thinking of us on our special day and how much it meant to be suported by our family and friends. I then made some mention of the gift and how it would be used.

We despatched them to all of us who got here, merely because this is magnificent of them to take day vacation of their lives and are available to share our day with us. certain you would say they were fed and had some drinks as a thanks yet once you've merely one couple this isn't any longer that demanding to write down one extra thanks! also we were given a wedding ceremony present this weekend (2 months considering we were given married). visitors do have a year to deliver a present, so that you not in any respect understand you would get one yet.

I like your answer, but if possible, include the name of the gift, picture frame, vase, floral sheets, etc. That way you make your thank you seem more personal.
