My boyfriend tried an anti-depressant to help with quitting smoking and it made him crazy. The first week he was getting off of it were awful, he was so spacy and dizzy he couldn't drive. It took two more weeks for all the stuff to get out of his system so he could drive and feel clear-headed again.

Good luck!

I have and it takes a while... the only time I didn't feel like this was when I started taking something else immediately. Like I went from Lexapro strait to Effexor just fine with out any of the horrible with drawls you have been having.
I did go cold turkey on effexor a couple of years ago and had the same side effects that you are having from quitting your Lexapro and I remember it lasting about a month or so becoming progressively less noticeable. Good luck , I hope you find something that works for you.

You may have been detoxed too quickly as you are describing typical withdrawal symptoms from an SSRI. It lasts about 2 weeks only snd often you can get some relief by taking dramamine (OTC) until the withdrawal stops. It will greatly reduce the dizziness and the sense of your head swimming.

i was on lexapro for three years, i have been off from it since oct. it is very hard to come off of and it is normal to feel the way you are feeling .it took me several months to start feeling better.try to stay away from all antidepressants they all will mess you up ,antidepressants just masks your problems and then cause an addiction. try omega 3 and coconut oil i swear by it,i will take every day for now on.good luck
