try heat curlers--you know, the old fashioned curlers that you roll into your hair, but the ones that you heat up first--it works, even if you have stubbornly straight hair like me.

Well depending on how big you want the waves you part your hair in sections, bigger waves bigger parts. Take the parted hair and apply a non flaky hair gel then with your finger twist it like a spiral, (one hand over the other) it should then become a more circular section and twirl it around the base you should then have a ball. Place a rubberband around the ball to hold hair.

When unraveling the hair be careful that it doesn't tangle.

Do not use a lot of gel just enough to hold the hair or try conditioner instead.
you should sleep like this so it dries overnight. In the morning you should have waves

You need a curling iron (about 2"). Grab strands of your hair about one inch in length. Wrap your hair AROUND the curling iron in a downward motion. Don't hold too long b/c you want it to be loose. Start from the top of your hair and work towards the hair underneath. Make sure you change direction and wrap your hair every other way. You won't have to do hardly anything to to the hair underneath b/c you want it look as undone and loose as possible.
Big rollers won't be able to achieve this look.

Take a shower at night, and then braid your hair on both sides loosely when it's still damp. When you wake up, take it out, and let it sit for a while until it's completely dry. Good luck!!

braid your hair right after you get out of the shower while its still wet, in 2-6 braids. hairspray when your done. then sleep with them in your hair, and when you wake up in the morning, if its still damp, blow dry with braids still in. when hair is completely dry, take out braids. do not brush your hair because it will ruin it. just comb your fingers through to make it look nice, and there ya go!
