What has your vet said about these bumps over the past 3 years? I would follow a vets advice on this. Boxers are known for their predisposition to mast cell tumors which are a form of cancer. I ignore no lumps or bumps on my Boxers and usually ask for a biopsy just to make sure no mast cells are present.

My German Shepherd had lumps like that on her back. They were about the size of a pea & looked like they had pus in them. Sometimes the odd one would burst & pus would come out. It never bothered her. It turned out they were cysts. She had them all her life without any real problems.

that sounds like cysts. If you want them gone you have to have surgery on your dog to remove them. Get them looked at because boxers are prone to cancer.
