All the above statements can be true of ANY breed. Yes, poodles can be snippy - only when they are allowed to run the house, which is sadly true in most cases! Poodles are incredibly smart, and when properly bred (to start with - get a dog from a reputable breeder, don't do the backyard breeder thing or puppymill/pet store thing!!! do your research) and properly socialized and obedience trained, they are awesome pets! Many of the top obedience dogs and agility dogs in the country are poodles.

In my opinion and experience, Standard Poodles have sounder temperments than the minis or toys, but again... if you get them from a "GOOD" breeder, all 3 sizes can be wonderful pets. But do keep in mind, raising a dog is like programming a computer - Garbage in, garbage out (you reap what you sow)

Poodles have a few characterisitics that make them uniquely suited to particular families. Poodles have a tendency to be very intelligent yet a little high strung! So they are usually good in a family situation yet if you have company this excites them and they might not react good to the strangers unless you have trained them well--easy since they are so intelligent.

Poodles are fantastic watch dogs. They have a very loud and threatening bark and a vicious bite. Yet they know that the children in their "family" aren't to be bit. My husband learned to walk by pulling up on the family poodle and then holding on to it's ears while he walked beside it! But they know when somebody is picking on them and are quite willing to nip in those cases. Strong jaws can make these nips more serious than say a chihuahua nip! But nothing like a pit bull for example.

Poodles were actually bred as bird hunting dogs and most enjoy swimming and running. So be prepared to give them regular vigorous exercise--it helps calm them down!

What kind the big ones or the toy poodles? The toy poodles are cute I think. But the way their hair is done sometimes looks silly. Which kind are you looking for?

NO! They are vicious little dunces. My aunt had a poodle and it was the meanest little creature to ever walk the earth! One time when I was little he was gonna eat and maybe choke on a piece of plastic and I went to get it from him and he bit me. He was also very over protected of my aunt. If you went near my aunt while the dog was around he would bite you. So my suggestion is DO NOT get a poodle.

If you want one then that is your opinion. You shouldn't ask other people to judge your opinion.
