My family already has a big outside australian shepard. We want an inside dog that would stay small so that we can pick him/her up and carry around the house. What kind of dog is easily trained and fits these requirments? I really apreciate your answers! Thank you!

i also have an australian shepard and we love her, but she is pretty big for an inside dog. If you like the Australian Shepards a miniature one would be good.
height: 13-18 inches
weight: 17-40 pounds

The dog you need is a miniature dachshund! I have one named, Ellie Mae. I took her to training classes and she is really smart and well-behaved! She is only 7 pounds and I carry her everywhere! She is a great dog! So are many other dachshunds! There are three different breeds of dachshunds. If you decide you want to get a dachshund you should buy a magazine about them to learn more about this particular breed. Good Luck! I hope you find the perfect dog and that it is a mini dachshund!

a jackrat (jack russell and rat terrier) or a pugston (boston terrier and pug) they stay really small and they are adorable. My best friend has a pugston and I love that dog. My dads friend has a Jackrat and it is also adorable. I have a German Short hair and I know for a fact that is not the dog you want.

I HAVE A RED AND WHITE SHI-TZU BUT SHE HAS LOTS OF HAIR BUT THEY TRAIN REALLY FAST AND THEY ARE NOT REALLY TO ACTIVE. SHE HAS HER MOMENTS WHEN SHE WANTS TO PLAY WITH HER TOYS BUT WHEN YOU TELL HER TO BE STILL SHE IS STILL. SHE IS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD BUT HAS BEEN SLEEPING WITH US FOR 2 MONTHS NOW. NO ACCIDENTS AT ALL. STARTED HER KENNEL TRAINING WHICH IS BEST FOR ANY NEW PET THEN YOU CAN LET THEM OUT MORE EACH TIME THEY ARE GOOD.

THERE ARE ALOT OF GOOD SMALL DOGS. BUT I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE, I WAS RAISED WITH THE CHIHUAHA'S AND THEY DO NOT TRAIN WELL. MOST ALL OF THEM POTTY IN THE HOUSE ON A REGULAR BASIS. AND THE DACHSHUND WHEN EXCITED WILL PEE.. DON'T KNOW WHY. ALMOST ALL OF THEM DO THIS.

THE BEST THING TO DO IS LOOK ONLINE FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF DOGS AND READY ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIOR PATTERNS AND HOW THEY DEAL WITH OTHERS AND OTHER ANIMALS. AND ALSO READ ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIOR IN DOORS AND HOW WELL THEY POTTY TRAIN.

GOOD LUCK I HOPE YOU FIND A GREAT PUPPY.

Either a yorkshire terrier, a silky terrier, or a pomeranian. They all stay small and are good pets.

We just got a chihuahua mix and he is a lovely dog. My first choice was a dachsund. But dachsunds can have physical problems...good luck with your search...Also, poodles are very smart dogs.
