Well most people would disagree. But I feel if there going to date then they need to be chaperoned. I am really shocked to see how young kids are dating and holding hands and kissing. My husband and I were really shocked last weekend when we went to the mall. I'm not real old either...I'm only 35. But I think when they start dating at such a young age then when there teens it gets old and they want to go further. I feel dating is something that you do when you looking for that perfect mate. Not just for fun and at an early age there's danger's if not chaperoned because of the young child's new feelings and pressure. It's shocking what kids talk about...I know I have three kids, which two are in school and only in grade four. You'd be surprised what kids say and how they talk about sex.
If so have some one "parent" chaperon or make sure you kids do things in groups.
I hope this helps...I know so many will disagree. But I just hate to see kids get caught up in the adult world at such a young age, because kids today feel they know everything. It scares me that kids are growing up so fast these days.
If your going to be open with your children and give them guidlines to fallow and even talk to them about the physical attraction and how that's not the most important thing. There more to a person then there looks and suggest really getting to know them as a person for a while because in the begining most people really don't act like themselves and show all there true colours. I'm speaking from experence...of a first boyfriend. Be aware and watch your children and who there with....protect your children and if you feel uncomfortable about anything...watch, even if your child say's ....Oh, come on there great!

I don't know what you mean by special but yes I think that when they are in like 8th grade and up then they should be allowed to have a bf or gf.

well i think it depends on their age because you dont want your 12 year old daughter all up on some boy that she just met and then start saying things like i love you. those 3 words r very strong and i think young ppl who have bf or gf r just at the puppy love stages. maybe the ideal age to date is 16

Allowed or not it is going to happen. As long as all contact is age appropriate it does no harm. If it is not then they should be separated.
