Today would have been my parents 45th wedding aniversary. My father died 8 weeks ago. should I send my mother flowers and if so what shouls the card say? They have been dating since they were 12 and his death was very sudden.

Of course you should! Your mother just lost her best friend, and these little things, although at first will hurt, will help in the healing!
What should the card say? Well, this is a matter for you and you alone! It sounds as if you love your mother very much so something coming from the heart would not be out of line.
'I will remember with you, I love you Mom!' or
'It is a day that should always be remembered and celebrated, thank you for celebrating with me!' or what ever makes you feel better. This is about your mother and the love you are extending towards her.
Good Luck
Blessed Be

I would say NO! BEcause your mother will be upset on this day and it might upset her even more if she got flowers! You celebrate an aniversary with the husband and not with a son. So even though it was a nice gesture, you shouldn'T do it.
Instead you could just go and visit her to show that she isn't alone and to comfort her on this day.
I am sorry but I really think flowers would be wrong

I am sorry that happened to you. Sending flowers to your mom is a great idea for her anniversary. Send flowers to her, and say on the card that you love her and will always be there for her. Then sign your name. She will really appreciate it, and it will make her feel better. Then maybe you should go out to lunch or something at a fancy restaurant and have a day out just by yourselves. You could give your dad some flowers, too, by going to his gravesite or something. It's also nice to know that your dad and mom were together for so long.

No, don't send any flowers. She might just get upset. She's still in a very sensitive stage in dealing w/ your father's death. Send the flowers on mothers day, not today.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You should definitely send flowers. Maybe just a little note letting your mom know you're thinking of her will help her through the day.

No,don't send flowers! Its not very nice to remind your mum of your dad's absence because normally the husband is the one who send flowers.instead,a card or something else like a nice dinner,if you can meet her, will be good.I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing.Maybe you and your siblings can be there for your mum to cheer her up.I think that will mean alot to her and help all of you to cope with his sudden death.

Yes, bring her flowers. I did when my father passed away and it was their anniversary. You can say on the card that the flowers are also from your dad. I'm sure he would have liked that and if he hadn't died suddenly he would have probably asked you to buy her flowers in his name.

That would be very nice. The card should say something like "I'm thinking of you today mom. Know that I love you". That way it will let her know that their anniversary is not going unnoticed by you, as you know it's on her mind today, and you're sending your love and support for her.

Hugs to you for your pain too.

What a dear idea.

I would put something on the card that honors the day, but also make it personal from you....ie "without this special day, I wouldn't even be here" etc. Also, if you have siblings, include them.

There's nothing a mother loves more than family harmony.
