taste like chicken. please rephrase the question.
dogs are like people, they may have varied tastes, let him try different brands/types of food and see which he seems to prefer.i wouldn't give a dog table scraps, and i would pick a high quality nutritious food.

I assume you mean dachsund. They eat the same stuff as other dogs. Stick with a good quality dog food. Also, make sure they get crunchy stuff like biscuits to help clean their teeth. Dachsunds have notoriously bad teeth.
My dachsund was a four-legged vacuum and would eat just about anything. If I turned my back for a second, he would sneak over to my other dog's bowl and starting eating her food as well. When he became old and had lost most of his teeth, I had to switch him to a canned dog food because he could not longer chew the dry dog food.
Be careful not to overfeed as a fat dachsund can develop back problems.

Dog food is always best for all breeds. Iams is good - not a lot of junk in it. The worst thing you can do is feed your dog people food. It can make them fat and sick, their bodies don't know how to digest some of the un-nantural ingredients. Chocolate is especially bad, can kill them. Since your dog is little it only takes a bite or two. I would stick to dry dog food and normal treats, stay away from pigs ears, too. Just saw a show on it, they don't digest and get stick in stomachs which requires surgery! Good luck, cute dog!

I imagine daschunds would taste like any other dog...
Oh, wait, you mean "what do daschunds like to eat?"
Hm..... Dog food?
All kidding aside, if you're curious about what kind of dog food you should get for a daschund, just look at the size and age of the dog. Most dog foods are geared for dogs of a certain size and age- ie., there's puppy dog food- which would be for puppies, obviously... and then there's dog food for large dogs, like golden retrievers or German shepherds; and dog food for small breeds, like chichihuas.

i agree, daschunds do like to eat. we have 2 of them and one of them doesnt like to eat much, and the other just eats and eats. my bf jokes and says she probably eats lots because she likes to feel her brain vibrate when she's chewing lol lol. kinda funny. Anyways, feed your doxi 2 times a day. small breed dog food. they can eat other dogfood also, but some people prefer the small breed stuff. We also have a large dog, and we just get a big bag of good stuff, and they all share it. They dont mind. Also, i agree on the people food, try to avoid that. Ours LOVE fruits and veggies, so we give them small treats now and then. Try to stay away from acidic fruits(ex. oranges,grapfruits..etc) it can turn their stomache due to the high acid they contain. Hope this helps.

Doxies love to eat ..so be careful not to over feed them...they developer back problems later in life....if they get heavy....i had a beautiful little red one for 19 years....and she would eat as long as there was food ...so to save yourself a lot of trouble only put food down twice a day....and only dog food ..not people food...it's really better for the dog. I loved my little dashund she was a great little friend:)
