is this the right tense in french?

could you see if these make sense like the right tense, spelling, wording ect, thanks

Il a demande l’argent pour une condition
Il lui a donné la couverture parce qu'il faisait froid
Il a vu la jeune fille à l’église
Il a utilisé le couteau pour couper la couverture
Il a donné sa maison pour épouser la fille

Il a vu la jeune fille dans l’église
would this one make more sense than the other one?

Il a demandé de l’argent pour une condition.

"Il a demandé l'argent" means "He asked for the money" i.e. a particular stash of money, and "Il a demandé de l'argent" means "he asked for some money".

However, it doesn't make sense to me. Are you saying: sous conditions" -- i.e. on certain conditions?

There is a difference in meaning between "Il a vu la jeune fille à l’église" and "Il a vu la jeune fille dans l’église." The first means: "he saw the girl at church" - i.e. while attending a service - and the second means: "he saw the girl in the church", which opens the field to all kinds of possibilities. You know which one fits!

I agree with the other sentences.

pretty good. I'd use the partitive for money, though; as in "Il a demandé DE l'argent pour une caution" He asked for SOME money as collateral. IN the last one, maybe you could say "dot" as in "Il a offert sa maison comme dot pour la mariage de sa fille" He gave his house as a dowry for his daughter's marriage. Your French teacher will have to look it up, but that's cool too. Otherwise it looks like he's marrying his house to his daughter, and that would be strange.

you could also throw in "il faisait un froid de canard" which is an idom for really cold.

I think you could say the church thing either way depending on whether you wanted to stress her being at Mass or inside the building. maybe: Il a vu la jeune fille pendent la messe dans l'église.

I just had a better idea: "il a offert sa maison comme dot pour faire épouser sa fille" = "he gave his house as a dowry to get his daughter married"

It's: Il a vu la jeune fille à l’église.
I don't think you can say "dans l'église"
It looks like all sentences are right except for the demandé in the first sentence as the first answerer said.

It has to be written like this:
Il a demandé l’argent pour une condition

I'm not sure though if it makes any sense. Do you mean:
"He asked for money under one condtion" ??
