Its up to you to teach bite inhibition. "Yelp",fold your arms and turn your back to the pup whenever the biting gets out of hand. Show NO attention.Redirect the pup to a chew toy. It will take time, persistence and consistancy but your pup will learn. Never yell or hit the pup for this behavior.

Shake cans and chain-throwing are not only cruel 'solutions' to this problem, they also sound very inconvenient for you. Are you really going to lug a chain around so that you can punish your dog by throwing it? Didn't think so.
When your dog tries to nip or bite, stand up immediately and fold your arms. Better yet, leave the room. Dog learns : "When my teeth land on human skin, the game's over!" No need to scold, in fact it's best to not interact with your dog at all when you stand up and leave.

Hold his mouth closed and say NO BITING, and keep offering him different kinds of chew toys, get him interested in it by putting a little bit of peanut butter on it... BE PERSISTANT... try getting some bitter apple and spray it on your fingers when he tries nibbling on your finger he will figure out that it doesnt taste good =) I hope this was helpful... but remember when he nibbles on whatever part of your body hold his mussle closed and say NO BITING, even if you have bitter apple spray on!! =) Good luck to you and your puppy!!

This is how puppies play with each other, but human skin is more sensitive! Hold his muzzle, look him right in the eye, and say NO when he bites. Then distract him with a toy. It takes a lot of patience, but he will outgrow this stage.

When you find an answer to this one let me know. My rescue female is around 5 and she still nibbles at times. She also thinks it's fun to try and take away my jeans when I'm putting them on.
