That to become a well rounded, fully developed human being, we have to experience pain and suffering. That hardship builds character, and adversity encourages us to continually reach forward and prove ourselves.

Basically, in order to become a better, stronger person, one must have life experience. Someone who doesn't experience hardship will not be able to grow as a person. Learning to overcome obstacles and adapt builds character. If one were to live an uneventful life, what can be learned?
