This advice is related to having a new baby. Sleep while the baby sleeps. I am telling you, you will be a happier, more functional person. I also like to tell parents go with the flow, have a sense of humor. Parenting is the most challenging yet rewarding job you will ever have. You need to learn to be flexible with everything you do. It makes the house run a little smoother.

My grandfather gave me lots of advice here are some:
-If you're going to do something, do it right or not at all.
-Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
-Things are never as bad as they first seem.
-Children are a worry from the cradle to the grave.
-When raising children, patience is most important. Think before you speak, no matter what they may have done.
-You can always come home.
-(Driving)-It's not you, you need to worry about, it's the other guy.

The best gift you can give your child is the ability to stand on their own two feet. There is not a better feeling then when you realize you have raised a bright, successful, independent adult.

My mom once told me to choose your words wisely. You can always say you're sorry, but you can never take the words you speak back.

Grandpa used to tell me that when your mouth is open, your eyes and ears are shut. I've come to understand what he meant by that, and am trying to pass that gem to my children.
