Because of evil and bigoted people.
Shall we adopt the NRA defense? Bibles don't kill people; people kill people.
Except that I would argue that the bible, like the handgun, is somewhat intrinsically dangerous. There are texts in the bible which are the very quintessence of bigotry - everybody who does not "believe on Jesus' name" will be cast into the lake of fire, etc, for all eternity? It would be difficult to top that!
(By the way, people who don't understand this ought to go look up "bigotry" in the dictionary. "But we're right in Christ!" Well, there ya go.)
But I have to laugh at the girl who says she's never heard of the bible being used to justify evil. It's hardly surprising that people so profoundly ignorant could be sold a bill of goods.
How's about this? How 'bout we stop using the bible to justify or condemn our actions at all? What if we actually arbitrate our conduct with reference to our own innate sense of justice and decency, rather than attempting to fall back on moldy theological ruminations written for nomadic savages thousands of years ago? Do we lack that faith in ourselves? Well, some of us do, apparently.

The answer is in the nature of human beings. People choose to act in certain ways. They need to find some means to make their actions justifiable. Despite the fact the Bible is not about doing evil they will use select parts of verses to justify their actions. They believe this works because people respect the Bible. It's known as manipulation of facts to justify any action.
Unfortunately people who see this behavior will often equate God with the person who is manipulating. Someday maybe they will get the point, people are not God. Their actions are based upon their own thoughts and the use of their free will. God is never pleased by the abuse His name gets.

It's never right when someone is Bigoted. Using the Bible to justify it is even worse. However, it actually mentions that very thing in the Bible. I forgot which passage, but somewhere Jesus says, "people will falsely do things in the name of the Lord."

The justification of anything, is to show others that any, and everything is possible for God, even the promise that Satan which is the main Evil producer of such forces will end up, in jail, bound by its own techniques? Although your own interpretation of what the bible which for you to see, you saw it, but you just decide to use it, in the opposite way, in which the Bible shows, that we have a great portion of that Image God which for us to see, of HIM(God), at all times. because while we are Intelligent beings, we should be able to make our own preferentially good interpretations of the purposes that the best book ever writing, was create for. We just see the light from a different spectrum, different perspectives, to perceive and achieved different goals, and that isn't the true perspective of Humanity, for/with our creator, or what our creator expect from us.<>

Evil people look for excuses for the evil things they want to do, and manipilate the Bible in their evil attempts to justify things they know are wrong, and other evil people accuse the Bible of supporting the evil done by people.
The Bible does not justify evil, but evil people lie and say it does

People have used religious texts of all kinds to justify the evil that they do to themselves and their fellow man. Such things are not limited to the Christian bible.
The problem comes when people who know better do not stand up and denounce those who would misuse their holy texts, or allow people to add things to it that were not meant to be there.

Because people misinterpret the Bible and use it for their personal agenda and gain - people are evil not the Bible
Saying the Bible is evil an bigoted is like saying that a Car is responsible for an accident that it was involved in rather than the driver

Evil, bigoted men will use anything to try to justify their evil actions. It's easy to take scripture out of context because many people don't read the bible for themselves, they just believe what others tell them, and when its evil people telling them evil things, they just blindly follow along, believing they are right. It's the evil ones who use the koran to justify murder too.

Because the Bible has, within its pages, tales of God supported rape, slavery, adultery, bigotry, and child abuse.
If you read the right stories, not just the ones your Pastor reads to you on Sunday, you will find a Bible passage to support any delusional maniacs dream.
Whether there is a God or not, the Bible was written by MAN. Therefore, it is inherently EVIL & SELFISH. At the very beginning of it's stories it subjugates women as a "second thought" and therefore inferior to men.
Adam was first (even with his naval) and Eve, dumb B**** that she was (this is sarcasm) ate the "fruit" of knowledge after talking to a snake. Therefore, she has forever been cast, by Jews/Christians/Muslims as being the root of all MENS sins.
Hows that for a great reason to make all women lesser beings, enslave them, treat them as sex objects, then cover them up & tell them they are evil, just by chance.

I just for the life of me can't seem to remember the last person that was injured or killed because they refused to read the Bible.
I could be wrong though.
And as far as bigoted? Oh, you mean like the KKK, a small number of people that call themselves Christians. Of course they are like 1/1000 of 1 percent of people who read the Bible.
