Mav is Christian. Mav gets very sad when people answer questions as if they speak for all Christians.
For example: Mayor Seans question of favorite characters.

Mav enjoys each and every one of those movies as well as favorite Christian characters, and Greek mythological characters.

Mav wonders if it upsets you when someone you don't even know claims to speak for you?

Mav, I don't think Mayor Seans is speaking for the entire community, but for himself. He is just wondering who are people's fave characters from different "mythologies", even though you don't regard Christianity as a myth or stories or people in it as characters. Remember that in Yahoo! Answers Religion and Spirituality category, you are going to get ALL sorts of religions or atheism or agnosticism and not everyone is going to be conciliatory to the Christian tenet. As long as YOU represent Jesus in the most Biblically correct light, don't worry about others who rep him right or wrong.

It doesn't upset me because I know that the person who claims to speak for me is either a fool or a charlatan.

Anybody who believes absolute statements made by such people is either very gullible, is in desperate need of something/one to believe/hate or doesn't have much of a grasp on logic.

Hi Mav
You seem to be pretty upset at what Full Gospel Shirley wrote. I think she is exceptional. I haven't seen many people answer in that way, claiming to respond for all christians, or for all of anything else for that matter.
In any case, all christians think like me, didn't you know? LOL

I'm not sure I know what you are getting at.
Are you talking about that "Full Gospel Shirley"character?
Everybody knows she's just a nut.
I don't see how she speaks for anyone but the voices in her head...
Peace

I speak for everyone of my exact age, gender and species that currently lives in this specific house right now. Other than that I presume to speak for no one.

I prefer to speak for myself. I can put complete sentences together and hopefully articulate my ideas and thoughts in an understanding way...

Blessings!

Every answer herein is an opinion.
Even if I back an answer with scripture I encourage/expect all to read it for themselves, study it and then draw their own conclusions.

I don't pay much attention to those kinds of people. No one speaks for me! I speak for myself.

It is a bit presumptious for people to do that, instead they should phrase it as "the scripture says" (if that is true)....
That way it takes the "me" out of it....

No, as long as they tell the truth and as long as I agree with what he/she has to say.
