I had the same problem - I went to CNET and downloaded it with no problem-- here's the web site

I used the uninstaller from their website at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

You should then be able to install Adobe Flash Player 9

if all else fails, install the whole Flash program
