the "new additon" is trying to challange the older cat to be the dominant cat in the household. Nothing sexual about it, it is a domanance issue.

If you didn't get the 6 month old nuetered yourself, are you sure that it was done? If you are sure, it may just be a habit carried over from before they were fixed. You can definitely train your cat to stop though.

Poor elderly kitty!
Show disapproval by shooing the younger one off him.
Cats can be and are trained.

Of course, show affection to him later, so he don't feel jealous.
