Our cat (female) has a habbit. At 5am everyday she wakes up up by jumping on the bed and stroking my head with her paw. She does that until I wake up. Then as soon as I open my eyes she cuddles in my arms and wants me to pet her. IF I get up to go to the bathroom, she runs to her food bowl and waits there as if she want me feed her. (she has dry food in her bowl all the time, but we give her a can of wet food in the morning and in the evening) .
I haven't slept past 5am in weeks! Any idea would be greatly appreciated,

Honestly? Get up. I'm up at four, so I don't see a problem with that. Maybe go to bed earlier. Guess you haven't gotten the memo... Cats rule. Check out this one:

Never feed your cat wet food in the morning. I don't feed wet food too much, but had to start measuring out dry food at mealtimes cuz my cats got to be fatties. So I WAS feeding them at 7 am every day, well then they were banging on the door, scratching the carpet so i could hear, etc. So now I don't feed them until 8, after I've been up for an hour. They dont' bug me anymore until after I'm up. In your case, just cutting out the AM wet food should do the trick. Things will be worse for acouple weeks, but then kitty will figure it out and quit it. Otherwise, you will have to shut the bedroom door, but she will mew and scratch if you keep up the AM wet food. Good luck! Have you petted your cat today?

I have one of those automatic cat feeders that feeds them in the morning. You program the timer and food drops down at that time. If you program it around the time they get hungry they'll learn to start going to their bowls instead of you. Mine only works with dry food. I feed them by hand at night, but this definitely let me get more sleep in the morning.

well ill tell you what. i have a male cat. i keep his food and water and cat liter in basement. i keep the door to the basement open durning the day so he can get in and out whenever he needs to. i have a problem similer to what your experiancing. so what i do is put cat in basement at night. it helps me get the sleep i need and it doesnt upset the cat at all. he feels like the basement is his bedroom. try that. if no basement. try a spare room. it will help. GOOD LUCK

would you get rid of her? Maybe shut your bedroom door but she might MEOW and it will drive you crazy. Maybe she's waiting for that wet food, maybe stop giving her wet food in the morning and only at night!
