is there any palce in india(chennai) you could suggest. i don't really have much time .. so if i could just get on with the basics that can help me to some extent at undersatnding and alittle of talking of something like that

It just depends... if you mean righting, speaking, vocabulary, then you have to go to a country that speaks French. You can't just learn to speak it because you have to learn all the rules on how to write it, on how to speak it words change depending on who your talking to. So a 1 year at least. Hope I Helped...if you just meen that you want to know enough french words to speak then a few month's

It depends n how much time u ca dedicate for learning it...
I had to study French while going to college, so I learnt it in 5 long years.. coz I wasn't totally devoted to it.
