His reaction would say everything. When your in love with her and it's the same for her, he will notice this. Better be ready to get attacked, since he will see you as a thief. Men usually see their girl (not always!) as their possession, and you are coming TOO close. You've violated and crossed that invisible territory. You should either just get along with the girl and avoid hugging her or do it when he can't see it.

Who do you like more, the friend or the girl? A loyal friend will not go with his best friends girlfriend. If they break up, MAYBE! (But you should talk to him about it first.) If you go with her behind his back you are not being his friend. Make up your mind, and do what you are going to do, but don't hide it.

Tell your best friend that she digs you. There doesn't have to be any fighting. There are tons of women out there. He'll find another one. If he doesn't understand, then he is lame. This has happened to me, and I always go for my ex-girlfriend's best friend. It usually works out better! Badda Bing!

Dont worry too much pal.Just tell your bestfriend it was just a friendly hug...Tell him not to get things wrong.Dont spoil the friendship with your bestfriend just because of this girl.
