In Scientology homosexuality is considered a non survival or low emotional tone or response to what we call the 2nd Dynamic.
In Scientology each individual has 8 Dynamics or 8 parts of life thro' which each he is striving to survive or exist. These are urges towards existence in 8 different spheres:
Dynamic 1 Self
Dynamic 2 creativity, sex, family unit, rearing of children
Dynamic 3 Groups or as a group, race, etc
Dynamic 4 Mankind
Dynamic 5 All Life forms, including plants, animals, birds etc
Dynamic 6 Physical or Material Universe(Matter Energy Space & Time)
Dynamic 7 Spiritual Universe, spiritual beings, life source.
Dynamic 8 God, Supreme Being, the infinite,or as infinity.

Since the 2nd Dynamic has as part of it's purpose the survival of mankind as a species, homosexual urges or activity regardless of their cause, are counter creative in this sphere.
As is sexual promiscuity, regardless of gender.

Having said that this doesn't mean that Scientologists are homophobic. The whole purpose of Scientology auditing (or councelling) is to raise the individual emotional tone. This is not addressed to a specific Dynamic necessarily, but when you raise a person's emotional tone his respones to life become more positive and generally more survival across his Dynamics.

But there is no " judgement " involved, just a recognition and understanding of the causes of certain conditions and non survival urges and activity and a way to improve those conditions for those who want to do so.

Hope this helps. I've been factual and honest with this answer.
As a Scientologist myself for some 36 years I personally have no intolerance of nor do I judge any human condition .

I don't think any religion itself, promotes intolerance, but I do think that individuals with low emotional tones and reponses towards others within any religion can pervert the intention and use their religion to justify their own intolerance.. or phobias.
