One of my friends who has been to Australia, told me that in Australia Women chase men as opposed to America where of course its usually the men chasing the women.

His exact words were "The roles are reversed in Australia", can travelers and/or native Australian's confirm this?

Australians have a relaxed attitude to life. Women are as entitled to show their interest in a man as a man is in woman. In some societies this attitude could be considered abnormal but not in Australia. Even in the USA, while men think they are in charge and doing the pursuing, they wouldn't get very far without the cooperation of the women. Australians are more open about it. If this looks like gender reversal, women must still be very repressed in the USA.

Yes this is true, in Australia us women believe in getting what we what if this involves chasing the man then we will, some Aussie men are quite relaxed, if we waited for them then things would probably never happen.

This is because we are in the southern hemisphere. Actually it's just your friend's experience. He got lucky. Some woman spotted him and went "Yummo" and grabbed. There's a few like that around.
