Alergy and cetirizine dihydrochloride?

I am taking cetirizine dihydrochloride for alomost 4 years twice or thrice in a week. If I dont take this then my skin become redish and I feel itching. I want to know is this bad for health to take this medicine for long time? What can I do for this alergy problem? I am 25 years old.
