Your leg muscles will do best with a routine that gives them 48 hrs. to recuperate from that type of plyometric cardio exercise. Jump rope every other day, three times a week. Warm-up first, then stretch, before and after any activity. Try to do upper-body and core strength training on the days in between. Tip: mix in other types of cardio work on occasion so you don't get bored repeating the same routine over and over again.

Cardio exercise is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle, keep up the good work.

For your health, it is better to exercise nearly every day. However, unless you are an experienced regular at jumping rope, every day is more likely to lead to injuries or muscle soreness that do more harm by requiring you to stop exercising for long periods to heal. A better alternative would be jumping rope 3-4 times a week, and find some other exercise activity (even walking) for the other days.

You don't' state your age etc.. I would do it every other day. On the off days. walk a little. Constant pounding on your feet, knees and back will eventually take it's toll on your body. I'm going through it right now. I use only the recumbent bike now until the pool is ready. No more running, jumping rope for me. Good luck!
