Soldiers to begin leaving Iraq Dec 2005. ( Note: This was written Aug 2004)
The talks have mentioned a plan for U.S soldiers in Iraq to begin returning in 2 phases.

Begining in Dec 2005 a few thousand, the 1st phase in june 2006 about 40,000 and the rest by January 2007...Talks between Abu Mazen and Bush have been going on about this as the Iraq's want their govt control free of U.S control, which they call U.S occupation...So simmer down. Many of those soldiers coming home for Christmas may very well be your loved one..but they won't be there, for another 2 years. Keep a positive outlook, the war is quickly coming to an end...just treat them good this time as they have been so far gone from U.S culture that they will need a welcome and not another Jane Fonda response.ok? The war will be over by Jan 2007. We can taste victory. The Insurgents are and will be defeated. Thank God we will never have 3,000 dead in this war. The insurgents will never make the 3,000 mark on our troops.

Who was this supporter?
I would say he/she didn't have the facts straight. Also was talking out of his/her bottom.
If we as a nation do not get in gear and be in one accord, the number 3,000 will be 10,000 and climbing within the next two years.

Can't stand those who still defend Clintons regime. this hero worship of all politcos sucks. Of course they are gong to lie what else they going to do? Most americans don't want to know that Clinton never was going to leave Bosnian theater and Camp Bondsteel was always going to be from first time we started funding Islamic groups to destroy old Yugo Republic and cause chaos in Balkans.
Camp Bondsteel was palnned 4 yeas befroe Balkans interference and haliburrton Brown and root had contract befroe we went in. It was for the next stage of taking on Afghanistan for pipleine routes from Caspain sea, protect the narrow staights, and be ready for use agaisn tiraq and Iran and yes quite possibly Pakistan some day.
We, the american public want to be lied to, and then when things go wrong we can say well I ddn't do that.
A policy of deliberate ignorance allows us to pretend we are good guys and it is ony a few bad apples who give us a bad name.

Actually by the statement above I do not see a lie, I see someone trying to act as a Prophet and predict a future they believe in and if it does not come to pass then the enemy , the Iraquis and Al Q and Syria with Iran all must be working for the Prince of Evil.
Doesn't make a diference if the guy was dressed like a prophet, notice how today they all wear Brooks Brothers or Armani suits instead of rags as in old days,or one of the unisex boobs for bombs that pass as press or media who just repeat the words from on high we like hearing good lies.

Things change. The situation on the ground changes and you have to adapt.

I seem to remember Clinton telling the American people after going to Bosnia that they would be out in December of 1996.

I left Bosnia in September of 2003. The US finally pulled out of Tuzla in force in 2005.

To Clinton's credit, even he realized that things change and stability is the number one issue.

I don't consider it a lie. I consider it the words of someone who was mistaken.
