Duvel and Leffe are not lagers. They are ales. Belgium brew some wonderful ales - but their lagers are naff. In fact the only 'Belgian' lager on sale here is Stella and that isn't brewed in Belgium - it's brewed in Wales.
Try Timothy Taylors Landlord pale ale. It's won more awards than any other beer and is truly wonderful. If you must drink lager then go for one brewed in Germany or the Czech republic. They are brewed from quality ingredients rather than chemicals and cardboard like British lager. Particularly look out for Pilsner Urquell or Budweiser Budvar lager (particularly the dark lager). This is nothing to do with the 'American' Budweiser which is brewed in Britain from rice and horse pi*s. Look out for Samuel Adams lager/pale ale or Sierra Nevada pale ale from America. They are superb. Try a German weiss beer (but it's not lager...)

MMMM you mentioned Duvel. A very good Belgian beer. I hope the King Cobra you mentioned isn't the same as King Cobra Malt Liquor here in the states. Yeuck!

Tesco's own brand German White Wheat beer is very refreshishing. Makes a good change but becomes sickly after about 5-6 pints. Very gassy too, but belching and farting is a compliment to a good continental beer. Better out than in as they say...

I really like Singah, it's a thai lager you can get it in Tesco, it has quite a high alcohol % but is light tasting. Am a Kronenbourg fan myself though.
