Yeshu was a Jewish rabbi who belonged, like his cousin John the Baptist, to the Essene sect of Judaism. He was over the age of 30, he was married and most likely had children.
Edit for the factual-history impaired: Rabbis would have had to marry. A unmarried rabbi over the age of 30 would have been unheard of Jesus's day. The wedding at Cana was his own. Instead of denying Jesus acceptance as he really was, too many people think sex would have dirtied him. That's very sad and very sick.

Here is the question I posed to my christian friends. If Jesus did have a wife, and had children, would that be a bad thing. Would take away from his status as the "messiah"?
The problem most people seem to have with the thought of jesus having offspring, is that it would mean that he had sex. Sex, even with married people, still carries a certain taboo with the very religious. But, according to christian teachings, people should be fruitful and multiply. So, if jesus did have children, he was following the guidelines set forth by his very own "father".
The problem the church, namely the Catholic Church, has with this theory is is erodes many of the principles they have set forth. One, the fact that priest are no allowed to marry. Now, they claim the reason for this is the priest is making a great commitment to god. But, and yes as an atheist I have read the bible, I don't remember god asking for such a commitment.

While Jesus did have a human body, he didnt do many of the things humans do because he had a divine nature within him. He actually was God come down in the flesh. God doesnt have a wife in Heaven, therefore Jesus never had a wife here on earth. It is only the Gnostics that claim that Jesus was married and it is based on a misinterpretation of the Book of Judas that says Jesus kissed Mary and was her companion. Back in that culture however everybody kissed everybody, it doesnt mean what it means today. And the word companion there means just that, it doesnt mean wife.

Nowhere in the Bible (or in any other Christian writing after Jesus' ministry) is there any hint at all that Jesus was married. For example, His closest relatives and disciples came together at the cross as He was dying—but no wife is mentioned, as she would have been if He had been married. Jesus' sole concern then was for the welfare of His mother (see John 19:26-27).
This isn't to say that Jesus disapproved of marriage—not at all. In fact, His first miracle took place at a wedding, to which He had been invited with His mother and some of His disciples (see John 2:1-11). God gave marriage to us, and Jesus spoke often about the joys and responsibilities of marriage. Most of the earliest disciples were married, including Peter (whose mother-in-law was healed by Jesus—Mark 1:30).
Jesus came into the world for one reason: to die for our sins on the cross. Don't be misled by myths that might turn you away from that great truth. Instead, make sure of your commitment to Him, for "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree (cross), so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness" (1 Peter 2:24).

No, I do not believe that He had a wife. How do you figure it's impossible to be mortal and not have a wife? Does that mean that unmarried men are aliens until they marry?
The Bible details Christ's life and activites once He became a young man and it does not mention a wife. He spent the few years that He had constantly moving from place to place, teaching in the company of the disciples.
There's no reason to think He had a wife unless the histories of his life (the Gospels) say that He did, and they do not. Anything else is pointless speculation.

Come on man! Don't just believe something because it's the new "ISSUE" of the week. He didn't have a wife. Think about it, if you knew what your purpose in life was, and also that you only had 33 years to do it, wouldn't you just get the job done? I'm sure that he saw women that he found attractive, maybe even had a crush or two, but when you know that the world is depending on you not to screw up, I think He just left that extra stuff alone.
That's like saying"Did you hear that Ghandi loved to fight?"
It's just stupid talk. Don't let your mind be swayed so easily.

I don't know what to believe anymore,. since none of us lived 2000 years ago and just a few men wrote the bible in their own words who knows what was really true or not. It is worth thinking about though.

Yes. I definitely believe it's a possibility. Most likely Mary Magdalene. I see no reason why he would not have had a wife.

Jesus was human, but not mortal. Jesus did not have a wife. That would have interfered with His purpose for coming to earth. Do not be taken in by these silly, baseless claims that Jesus is not who the Bible shows Him to be.

According to Jewish tradition, the grooms family is responsible to provide the wine at a wedding. And that being the case if the wedding where Christ performed the miracle of turning the water to wine would have (assuming it was traditional wedding) been either his wedding or one of his younger brothers weddings
