Children go through phases where they seem to be always hungry and at other times don't want to eat at all. The hungry stages usually occur close to growth spurts when the body need more energy. Toddlers spend a lot of energy in physical development.

Another factor to consider, is that she is probably much more active now than she was a few months back. More activity burns more calories. (the dieter's creed)

If she is just eating a lot more than usual but she is not getting "chubby" it probably is fine.

If she wants to eat nonstop or if she is getting chubby from what she is eating, that could be a problem.

Most children that age eat when they are hungry but just like adults they can develop emotional eating habits. Keep an eye on her body's response to the extra food. (Whether she's growing or getting chubby)

You should be pleased she's eating so well. My 2 year old went thru a stage were she would barely eat anything. I think as they grow fast and then slow down their bodies know what they need. You shouldn't worry. If she over eats her body would tell her and she would stop. Besides just give her lots of good stuff, like fruit and cooked veggies. Make sure with your doctor you're giving her the adequate amount of milk also.

She is getting older and requiring more food. At one they become much more mobile and start using up a lot more energy. If she is eating large meals make sure they are healthy and filled with vegetables and protein too. As long as she is eating healthy foods I wouldn't worry about it. During growth spurts children tend to eat and sleep a lot more too.

Make sure she is drinking lots of milk too. SD

She's getting ready for a growth spurt! You'll see this behavior is typical of her as she grows. She'll appear to 'pack it in" for a while and then you'll see a tremendous spurt of growth soon where her appetite will then go back to normal untill the next time.
Make sure she isn't hungry and give her healthy snacks to enjoy.
Blessings!

When in doubt call the pediatrician!!!! It's most likely a growth spurt. However, let the experts assess and reassure you.
