Not a Christian but I still wanted to add my two cents. I, too, was once Christian but then I read the Bible in order to present a valid argument for my (non-believing) ex. When I read just the first part, I finally understood how unrealistic it is. Fortunately, he had other ideas bu5t was unsure himself so I started looking aroundI'm still pretty sure there's another after-world (not sure why) but I also now realize there are several different ideas of what happens. Christianity (knowingly or not) brainwashes you into believing that either you're Christian or controlled by Satan and there's no other idea. They seem to forget the Egyptians, Greeks, Aztecs, Mayans, etc. Some of them, I'm sure, were very devout and loved Isis or Aphrodite orOsirus, etc, etc. There's also a book I've heard about called 'The God Gene' that supposedly explains why most people have a need to beliee in some spiritual other.

Criss Angel and Jesus.....puhleese! OK, honestly I don't believe in atheists, let's see who you'd call out to if you were dangling off a high cliff, and staring death right in the face. As for evolution, science has an answer to everything! I didn't evolve from a piece of slime, if that were the case, why don't we have people springing up out of bogs all over the place? There is life after death.....eternal life. Our Heavenly Father gave us a body, and sent us here as a learning process, a sort of series of tests that make us stronger. (ie, choosing right, living a good Christ-like life, treating others well, Keeping our bodies clean and following the commandments) The Spirit your worried about being your brain telling you to do something.........our brains don't always think rationally, or always have good thoughts. Ever had that still small voice utter something horrible to you? The thought that you have about religion is wrong.....religion is nothing but an organization, the true way to life Eternal is the 1 and only way, by belief on Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and forgiveness through the Atonement. Knowing and admitting that Christ died on the Cross for our sins, and being able to repent and be forgiven is such a beautiful gift. It sounds like you really know what's right, and you need to remember we live in a world, and society that allows Satan access into our lives everyday, via television, music, movies, books, and even the people we associate with. You know your heart, stop sweating the worldly stuff, and go with your true and honest feelings! I feel sorry for you in the fact that you're so confused, I wish you well and will say a prayer on your behalf. Good luck, and God Bless!

If you are an athiest, then you should not worry about Heaven. But I want you to remember this. It is not too late to turn back to God. God will always love you. Even though you may be a good person, you will not go to Heaven. You have to accept Jesus as your savior before that happens. You have to admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, and confess your sins to God. That is the only way. I can see that you are very troubled with this. Here's another thing. You "might" be able to believe in evolution and God at the same time. You can believe that God created us, but he let us evolve from something different. Even though I don't believe in it. You are the one that is believing.

I'm a little late on this question, but I hope you read this response, even if it doesn't help.
I've posted earlier about evolution. Statistically, there would have to be elements, chemicals, water, and a LOT of time, for even the first protein that COULD produce life to be created. 1 in 10^60 chance. A statistical impossibility is 1 in 10^50. And this would have to happen millions and billions of times for the first LIFEFORM to be created by chance. There are 10^120 ways to play a game of chess. You're more likely to be able to play every single combination of chess in this lifetime than for life to happen by chance. So if you really believe in evolution, I can honestly say you have more faith than I do.
But God says it's your faith in Christ that he'll look at.

Good News friend. That is all of the faith that you need to begin your new walk with Christ Jesus. He says that when we are Born Again St. John 3:5, we can enter into His Kingdom. Acts 2:38 tells us how to do this. We ask for forgiveness, are baptized by immersion in thename of Jesus Christ for the remission or our sins and all is forgiven. Then He will fill you with His Spirit to overcome the sinful behaviors that we have. This is The Promise from God! We know when we have His Spirit, Acts 2:4, 10:45-46, 19:6, St. Mark 16:16-17. Experience New Life with Christ!!

You do not have believe in religion. To be Christian all you have to believe is that Jesus Christ is the son of God, born of a virgin, was crucified on a cross and died for yours and my sins and rose from the dead after 3 days. If you believe those 3 things and accept Christ you will not have to worry about death, DNA or hell for your future will be settled. My friend I pray you accept Christ and that I see you at the House.

The Kingdom of God IS Faith. Works aren’t what this is about. Either you desire the presence of God or you don’t
But even if you don’t believe I encourage you to continue being a good person, so that you can feel some level of relief whenever you look in the mirror. For the sake of your own mind try to live the kind of life that doesn’t leave you full of regrets.
And if you ever decide that you do want to feel the presence of God, he will receive you with great love and comfort.

Its not an obligation to choose Jesus, but its your own choice and decision.
A Good person would be judged according to her/his deeds.
But if you were a Christian then try to question your faith, exercise your faith . If you quit at particular thing or in this case Christianity, you would never find out the good in it,coz till now what ever had happened to you was not according to you and seem like that God is not with you,but believe me sooner or later God will answer your prayers.so,don't quit on God coz God won't quit on you.
may you find your answers.
I'M PRAYING FOR YOU.
GOD BLESS.

You are one of the few honest expressive atheists out there. So if anybody can ahndle the truth it is probably you. The Bible undeniably teaches that if you deny Jesus as Lord, there is absolutely no hope for you. He is our only way to be saved and to deny him is to deny salvation. You see a person cannot do enough good works and be perfect enough in Gods eyes to be worthy of Heaven. As definition of being a sinful creature, we are not worthy of eternal life.
Heaven is for people that have lived life for God faithfully believing and following Jesus Christ, not for unbelievers that think they are good by their own standards. God has his own measuring stick and what he is looking for is faith.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -Ephesians 2:8
