Do you think the military would take action against one of their solders if the person's actions outside of the military are a concern and leads me to believe the person has bad moral character?? I know they have the 7 army values and its mostly about a soldiers actions to behave ethically and honor its country, but how far does that carry out to their actions towards civilians and what they do in their personal life?

He hurt your feelings? It is really hard to answer this question without all the information. But if he has simply hurt your feelings, then nothing will be done. If you are a spouse and he cheated on you, yes he will get in trouble. But simply hurting your feelings makes him human. Soldiers are human you know. Just because they live to a higher standards than civilians (subject to local laws as well as UCMJ) doesnt mean that they dont make mistakes. So I would tell you to move on.....

Soldiers, sailors and marines are subject to the Unifom Code of Military Justice whether they are on duty or not. So, a person doesn't have to even commit a civil crime outside of base, the strict rules of UCMJ apply there as well.

For example, you are not allowed to make sexist/offensive jokes in the military (although it happens). But, you could make a joke at a bar, offend someone and they could bring it up to you chain of command and you could be punished even though you were off-duty at the time.

Sorry but it doesn't sound like he did anything wrong in the military's eyes. He did not break the law. What are you expecting them to do to him? Did he get you pregnant? you don't say what he did to your health. People lie all the time but the military is not going to do anything to him because you go to his superiors and say he lied to me so he has bad morals. sorry but that is the truth. you would have to show physical or emotional battery done by the person. and if all he did was tell a lie then you shouldn't have believed what he told you until you had proof what he was saying he would do.

not really, no.. they will not get involved unless something illegal is going on, or it negatively impacts the mission and good order and discipline at work. they try very hard to stay out of their personal lives as much as possible, with good reason. It's none of their business.

You might be able to bring a civil suit agianst him, as an individual. That would require the military to take notice, although again, they may not get involved until there is a court order.

It sounds like he may have given you an STD or something. Honestly The Military feels you are not suppose to have sex with anybody who isn't your spouse, so if he gave you something and you spoke to one of his commanders he could get into trouble. If he gave you something knowingly he could face UCMJ action.

There are things you can do on the outside that can effect your career, and at times get you a dishonorable! Conduct Unbecoming does not stop at the gates of a military base! Neither do crimes or such things as failing to support your family!
