Track spikes will always improve your time over running shoes, unless you are not good enough for it to make a difference. The spikes give you better traction and allow you to push yourself forward more efficently (tiring less quickly) than with running shoes that may slip backward. It is especially noticable on a wet track.

Spike are faster because the shoes that have spikes are much lighter and have a better grip on the track. Normal running shoe (sneakers) are made for training. Do not train in spikes on race in them because spikes do not have the proper support for daily use.

spikes are better for running on a track, because you can get a faster start and the shoes are much lighter then regular running shoes. it makes sure your shoes dont slip on the track

for short distance sprinting, you need to apply operating spikes that do not have a heel. Eastbay has some solid spikes that are on sale for lower than $50. in case you hit upon spikes that you want you may bypass on Amazon, because they in a great number of cases have revenues on products too. ascertain that your spikes are designed for sprints, although. solid success! :)

Um, i don't know if its true, but a couple of years ago, I started using spikes, and they made me improve my time by at least 30 seconds. To me, they are easier to run in on a track. They work great for me, they should work good for you! Good luck!

I think it really depends on what event. Sprints, spikes really do help b/c there is better traction. Hurdles and jumps, spikes help to b/c grip is usually needed. for longer distances, i dont think that it matter as long as your shoes are light b/c i ran the same time in the 800 with trainers as i did with spikes.
i hope i helped
