**** means a swear word that is rather rude and insulting, so it cant be written for politeness. If you are after the f*** word, it basically means to have s*x with someone however it is used in an insulting way.
However if you mean the c*** word, which is graver and more insulting, it means a woman's private organ, however this word is very insulting

IF it is the word i think it is, it is an old sign(1800s) that used to be placed on doors when couples in europe wished to have sex without being married, this required consent of the king, they were given a room and they placed a sign that said Fornication Under Consent of the King so no one would walk in.

Look it up in the Wikipedia. **** could be any number of words that are bleeped out but one would assume that you mean the "F word", and if it is then you can see and entire histor of it and it's origins. I'm sure this would be true to any word.
