I love questions like this, hoping by answering I could also convince myself(lol). Just kidding.
In God's eye, His creations are perfect. In our perception it is not. But if you ask me if God's creations are perfect, then my answer is overwhelmingly yes. First, by logic alone, a perfect being could not create an imperfect beings unless we redefine God in order to suit our perception of imperfection. So, if God is perfect then there must be a problem with our perception that would not allow us to see that perfection. Then we ask, what's wrong with our perception? Maybe nothing. But human history tells us we keep changing our view to the world(i.e. it used to be the world is flat) and the reason we keep changing because of we are evolving/learning and becoming a better specie each day. From ape to human. And from human's pragmatic thinking to better perception(spiritual) and appreciative of God's perfection. My point is we are species experiencing evolution of our own kind. By each advancement we make,a better grasp of the truth ahead. Maybe in time we will be able to understand God himself with all rationality( faith and belief put to rest).

Nice question Garrett. I do believe that the bible has a part in it where God said 'let us make man in our own image'. And as far as Adam being perfect until he received the knowledge of good and evil, if he was truly perfect when he was created, he would already have that knowledge, and also have the ability to resist temptation, would he not?

He did not make them perfect (incapable of sin) but rather in the image of God. Thus they have been set to a higher standard than the rest of the worldly Creation being given the ability to acquire knowledge, understanding, and wisdom; from this they may make knowledgeable and wise personal choices, which may lead to sin (turning away from God).

God was never perfect and this is known by the fact that he repented in the bible in Gen-6:6'7 & Ex-32:14.
This is admitance/ confirmations of his ablities to make mistakes like us.

I would think if one doesn't have any self control what comes around goes around sooner or later. God doesn't make anyone sin they choose to do it on their own it's called free will.
