There is no reason why boys and girls can't be friends. My best friend is a guy and we have been friends now for over 17 years. We met when we were 14 and have remained friends over the years. Even now we talk about the times in the past when he liked me or I liked him but the timing wasn't right. We just never acted on it and have remained close and can talk about anything. There have been times when he may not have like what I have had to say to him and I know that there have been times when I haven't liked what he said to me but we also both know that we woundn't say it unless we cared and that is what friendship is about sometimes. So yes men and women, boys and girls can be friends. It just depends on how much you want to be friends.

Boys and girls cant be friends because one of them is a girl and the other is a boy and that equals sex, and then the whole friendship thing gets weird, i dont think id be able to do the whole friendship thing, cuz at one point it will get weird
