You should read up on the breed you are sitting for so you know what to expect. You should also ask for a copy of shot records to make sure they are up to date. Ask if they have any problems that you should know about, such as nipping, illness, dislikes, ect. Ask to have food and toys brought with them so you aren't feeding the wrong food. Get the vets number in case of an emergancy.

Your homework from school comes first (naturally).

But yes, learn about the dog breed. And learn about the dog's temperament. Ask if the dog has any allergies or medicines he has to take. Ask about if the dog is paper-trained or walked, and if the latter where (if he's in an apartment complex or a house with a small yard). Make sure you understand about the feeding: Some dogs can be picky, or have to be on special diets.

Good luck!

Meeting the dogs there habits, medication, where the vet is located. make sure all house rules are gone over. If they walk do it and play and outside potty. IF this is a paid job you are suppose to take care of the dogs needs first once they are fed, loved, walked etc then you may do your home work i am assuming this is a four hour period or less
