I just quit smoking a month ago and i used the patches for the 1st week and a half it was really good they help alot, you maybe should try them cause they help with your cravings and stuff, and also you should try not to think about smoking or when people you know are having one walk away and keep your self busy and stuff always be doing something take up a extra hobby and start to get fit and exercise cause you will find that you will gain a few extra kilos! try the nicorette 16hr patch and even if you dont like them there are chewies and lozengers also you should keep a pack of chewies in your pocket for when ya do start to crave or something, just remember to keep your self distracted and also the way you fell at the end of it all!

Yes...this will pass. Take deep breaths and tell yourself "this too shall pass"..it worked for me! Also, drink lots of fruit juice and water...it will flush the nicotine out of your system faster (apple juice is GREAT for this!). The 2nd part to keeping yourself cigarette free is to break the habit...and that's the hardest part! It isn't the nicotine that entices you back into smoking...it's the habit. Redirect your attention...go and do something else when the urge strikes. Think to yourself that you never want to have to go thru this again, so succeed this time! You can do it! I have been smoke free since 3/6/03 and I feel fantastic!

It's very normal. I have heard that drinking a lot of fluids can help flush the gunk out of your body faster. This time next week you will be well over it. This time next month you will be able to smell flowers that you only thought you were smelling. It helped me to spend the extra cigarette money on fun rewards for myself for a few months. Be proud of yourself, it will not get worse than right now and very soon it will be much much better.

The third day is the worst...hang in there and dont give up. Pop some candy in your mouth...mints are good.I gave up smoking cold turkey 3 months ago. Someone told me a story about his Russian father who had smoked 2 packs a day for years and had to give up. He always kept a cigarette in his shirt pocket and when he had a craving for one he would pull it out and say..."Who is stronger...me or you?" and then put it away again. I wouldnt advise keeping a smoke in your pocket but tell yourself in your mind...it is only a 'thing' and it can't control you. Hang in there...it does get better I promise.

u can expect anything from emotional swings to physical conditions which keep changing even 6 months after I quit. So don't worry, just forget timelines and relax - just keep new memories in mind and forget the past. Thats the best way forward.

sure, it just one of the sings of withdraw. you have 4 days to go to get rid of the habit completely.but after 4 days, if you still want to quit smoking for good, don't smoke ever again.

it should, after like three weeks or so you shouldn't feel any physical effects. The hard thing to break is the routine of smoking.
