I recommend doing the ab boot camp, alot of models and body builders use it as well as normal people who want a great stomach to show off! The Ab Boot Camp, has some dietary suggestions of cutting back on sugar and drinking more water then for at least 3 days of the week do the ab boot camp along with 30 minutes of cardio that day. You should see results within a month if your stomach is not covered with a layer of fat, if they are then I recommend keeping up with cardio to burn the fat!

Sit up targets a few parts of your body, while crunches solely targets the abs. I'd recommend crunches. Another good exercise would be to do leg lifts. For about 20 seconds each (or lower depending on your current strength) lift you legs 6-8 inches in the air. This targets your stomach area and helps tone your legs.

Besides the exercise, you need very low body fat. No matter how much muscle you have, the "definition" that gives the "cut" look will not be visible with even healthy relatively low amounts of fat covering them.
