If he needs your last name, then apparently he doesn't know who you are. Just block his email and any other screennames that you know of his.

Oh, and you may want to make new screennames yourself.

You did the right thing. Consider it an empty threat. I hope you've cut all communication with the guy. The surprising thing is sometimes that I come across situations like this, but for whatever reasons, the person keeps in touch. (It's like - um... you're hurting yourself here).

Cut all communications with the guy. Don't even enter whatever chat forums or wherever you were talking to the person. Delete your accounts where you met. You might even want to do a total cleaning of your computer (virus check, spyware removal, delete old files, etc.) and just leave your computer for a few days untouched. It'll just help you break a few habits that you might not have noticed otherwise.

He's being a weirdo. You keep your status secure and block him, report him to the police and don't contact him anymore.

We all have had our fair share of weirdos getting aggressive with us because we wouldn't share important information.

HOW TO KEEP SAFE IN CHAT:
http://www.chatdanger.com/chat/safetyadvice.aspx

Be careful who you trust online and remember that online friends are really strangers. People online, no matter how long you have been talking to them or how friendly they are, may not be who they say they are.

Meeting someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. If you feel that you ‘have to’ meet, then for your own safety you must tell your parent or carer and take them with you – at least on the first visit – and meet in a public place in daytime.

Stay in charge in chat.

Keep your personal information secret when chatting online (name, address, telephone number, mobile number, private email address, picture), even if people ask for this.

Although It can be tempting to reveal more than you normally would in online friendships, giving out personal information can make you vulnerable.

Check your profile and make sure it doesn’t include any personal information (name, address, telephone number, mobile number, private email address, picture).

Get away from an unpleasant situation in a chatroom by logging out (this just takes one click) or by changing your screen name.

Think before you answer private messages. It can be harder to end a conversation in a private chat than in a public chat. A private chat may end up being more personal than you like.

Use a nickname, not your real name, and a nickname that is not going to attract the wrong type of attention.

Look out for your friends and do something if you think that they are at risk.

Tell your parent or carer if someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or worried.

Learn how to keep/save a copy of the conversation in chat – this may be useful if you want to report something.

Learn how to block/ignore people.

Check you know how to report something you feel uncomfortable about to the chatroom provider or moderator.

Even with you surname he would not be able to find you. It just goes to show that chatting on line is really a pointless pass time. If things like this have scared you then perhaps it is best that you stick with the nice people (most of them) on Answers. No real names and no clues to identities. Perfect.

You have already made the first step by informing the police. Now you must be careful and make sure to keep a close watch on your surroundings. Never go anywhere alone because that makes you vulnerable to predators.

Ignore him he has NOTHING! You are probably referring to using this site as anyone who is a regular knows these losers are here every day! Turn off your E-Mail response in your profile and it will decease immediately! You shouldn't have it turned on any way as you get bombarded with all of the "talent" here that has nothing better to do with their time than annoy other participants!

Don't worry too much. Unless you gave him your address your perfectly safe... And since you didn't give him your surname I'm guessing your not that daft!

The net is full of creeps who get kicks out of shocking and scaring people...

i was threatened once too.. somebody said about touching me in wrong places.. but i was young and dumb and just x-ed out.. the best thing to do is to block them before deleting them.. that way this man can't get to you.. and if it was on messanger.. go on invisible for a while that way his buddy can't trace you.. because good hackers can find out everything about you and what is on your computer.. did you tell the police this mans sn or email?.. they could possibly trace him down with that.. and report abuse to yahoo or whatever site you were on!

good luck

Hi, I dont blame you for not giving him your surname, you dont really know who you are speaking to online. You did the right thing to keep safe. He must be an idiot delete him and if he tries to contact you keep records, so you have the proof, please dont speak to him online again.

Obviously do not be in contact with this fool any more. But print out and save anything that you can if you still have anything. Maybe it can be used as evidence. Good luck - that is very scary!!!
