Since the Quran calls for modesty in dress, why must women cover themselves more extensively than men?

Women being responsible of reproducing new generation of human, is one step closer to reality than men. So, need more cover, like we cover our reproduction organs, more than rest of our body.

Women look at a handsome man and think, "Oh he's nice looking." Men look at a pretty woman and think, "Wow...she's HOT!" Women hide their beauty from all men except their husband or people that they are not allowed to marry (their father, children, etc) so that men do not lust for them. Women should only show three parts of their body: their face and the palms of their two hands. If you visit the middle east though, men pretty much dress the same as women. They wear a long disdasha (like a gown that goes down to the feet, and qutra (the cloth that is worn on the head)).

EDIT: Zombie2Wolf...would you show me in the Qu'ran where it tells women to only show their eyes? If you are talking about Al-Ahzab 59, it says jilbab, which covers the neck, not the face. It does not say Niqaab, which covers the face. It says that women should be KNOWN and not molested. You can't know someone without being able to see them or their face.

Women must cover more then men because their physical and mental structure is different than men's.

Because in Islam, men are not required to control themselves. Men are not required to control themselves because everything is blamed on women. For example, if a woman accuses a man of rape, 4 males must back up her claim which makes no sense. What rapists rapes a woman in front of witnesses? If a woman cant find 4 witnesses, then she is considered an adultress and the penalty for that is death.

Imagine the effect of this. If a woman is abused or raped, she will not go to the authorities, because she will likely be considered the guilty party. It gives men virtual free reign over women !!

Ok the reason Muslim men and women dress modestly is not to attract attention to themselves and also to not appear to be sex objects. The reason Muslim cover everything except the eyes(will they are suppossed to most don't) is because ALLAH says in the Qur'an that all believing Muslim women are to cover everything except the eyes. Islam values the modesty of women so much that they should conceal their beauty and not reveal it to anyone except their fathers, sons, husbands, and other mahrams.
