Nobody goes to heaven.
You have confused Christianity with Christendom.
Christendom is a counterfeit, hypocritical abomination.
They have lied to the people about what happens after death.
We don't go to heaven.
We stay in the grave ....6 feet under, 'soul' and all.
Christianity offers resurrection, not transmigration.
Resurrection ON EARTH, once god has turned it back to the original paradise.
Once resurrected in that paradise, our intellect will flourish and grow, especially with appreciation toward our creator!

Heaven and perfection are abstract ideas not absolute truths. True intellectualism allows for adjustments as higher truth becomes known, its the ego that needs absolution; not the soul....big difference.

I find it highly unlikely, but I surmise that after you die, anything you believe about heaven or hell or an afterlife will be exactly right, different for everyone to fit their own beliefs, and nothing like what the individual churches say it is.

The only discription in the Holy Bible that is important to us as humans is Jesus' promise that in Heaven there will be no more tears, no more pain, no more death. That is a promise that I for one hope to recieve. What else could we possibly wish for?

this question makes no sense. If you reach heaven why would you become an atheist. Don't people become atheists because of lack of proof God exists. But if you go to heaven, would'nt that be because God exists? duh. BTW, The bible states that humanity will actually live on paradise on earth not heaven.
