Yup, mine did it too, all five of them! Its just a comfort thing and she will grow out of it , or you can gently divert her attention elsewhere if you want. I think from the tone of your question, that you are comfortable with it and understand it, but you wonder how it is viewed by others? I think most people would recognise it for what it is and not have a problem with it, and in fact think how sweet it is!.....and for those who do...who really cares?, you don't, your daughter doesn't!

Oh, he's getting food from you - perchance not all of it, even however that's there. So what's the undertaking? Your husband? nicely, the child continues to be a infant, until he turns 3 years previous, and surely little ones do not want or surely need their dads until they are 4 - and my son who I nursed until 2 years is lots autonomous yet not overly so the two (as in he would not run off far off from us). As for separation rigidity, nicely weaning him won't help that and could in actuality make it worse.

totally natural!!!
i breastfed my 3 kiddies, and all of them found comfort in getting their hand down my top for quite a while.
it's their way of keeping contact with the thing that they associate with food, comfort, warmth, happy moments!!!
maybe as she gets older and still doing it you can show her a place near your boobs that she can put her hand so you reach a compromise, but as our bodies are their bodies for a while i'd just go with the flow, you sound cool about it, good for you! she'll grow out of it when she's ready or when you decide to guide her if you feel the need to.
enjoy all the cuddles you can get i say!!

I think its just a comfort thing but I really don't know how long it lasts for, my sister is three and if she is really unsure about something then she still does this to my mum. I think its sweet.

Its completly normal, dont worry. She associates that with comfort and when shes unsure or lonely or just unhapy she'll seek comfort there. Try getting her a small blanket or teddy that she can associate with comfort instead, if it gets embarrassing, or know that as she gains confidence she'll do it less and less.

It is normal, our son does it all the time. He gets a great deal of comfort from it and you are clearly a great mum to be cool about it with your little one.

My 3 year old does this and still wants the breast. One time I pumped out some breast milk for my 1 month old he drank it. I believe she will grow out of it, but they love the breast, it comforts them.

Mine did it too because it was a source of comfort for him, especially when he was not feeling well and wanted to cuddle for comfort.
He gradually grew out of it.

My daughter never breastfeed (medical complications), and she still does it. She used to do it cause it was comforting to grab my shirt, now she thinks its funny. She is 19 months now and it does not happen as often as it used to.
