Learning from and being interested in a philosophy is not the same as converting to a religion. Buddhism has a good philosophy about it which I can identify with but I could never become religious about it, same goes with Christianity. Ego needs religion, Soul needs understanding....big difference.

If you don't believe everything they believe how can you be one of them? If you say you're Buddhist people will think you believe everything they do.
I think it would be better to say you believe some of the things Buddhists do, and then if people are interested they will ask you more about what you accept or don't.
Edit: Uncle Thesis had a better answer. Keep searching for the religion that has the whole truth.

Most religions have a core set of principles that followers must believe and profess to beleive.
There are also areas in which differences of belief still fit into the religion.
I'm not certain which are which, for Buddhism. I do know that there are differences in various schools of Buddhism about how detached one must be from desire (from the world).
No religion allows people to redefine it to mean 'anything I want to believe or not believe".

Buddhism is one of those beautiful religions that do not say you MUST believe in this or that
it is also a religion where you can follow the philosophies even when you are part of another religion ( many do , including myself )
so just be yourself , accept what makes sense for you and be happy

A religion should not be like going to the grocery store.
Its not:
"I'll take some of these and some of those, but that ....no thanks."
Religion is suppose to be about truth.
If there are aspects you cannot accept, either you are still lacking in understanding, therefore more study is needed
OR
maybe the religion, although positive in some aspects, has some untruths associated with it, thus disqualifying it from serious attention.

There is no soul, but it seems like there is a soul there.First I also thought there is a soul but later I understood there is no soul by learning Buddhism.
Every thing is changing in this universe and there is no such unchangeable soul in us.
Because u have said that u love Buddhism I 'll give u these links check the thing about the soul there.

I must agree with Dink on this, it is better for you to seek out God w/o religion. Me per se, I study the bible, but I don't proclaim any religion. If you join a religion, then yes you have to live by ALL of their doctrines. If you say you are Buddhist but don't believe what they do, how can you truly be Buddhist? You wouldn't be because you do not agree with their doctrines. You cannot pick and chose what to accept and then still claim a religion.
Follow God. I believe that way is through Scripture or the Bible as it is called. I'm not telling you to follow my path or else, but don't give yourself to the bondage of religion. Those who do have no hope because their faith will always be in another man's hands.
Now, Dink may not have been quoting Jesus verbatim, but he is speaking truthfully about Jesus' thoughts of and actions toward the organized religions with their creeds and deceptive doctrines.
To remix's comment below- Amen...

You can choose to believe whatever you want to believe, but you can't expect other people of that religion to acknowledge you as a member. They can believe you are wrong.

You should not. You should believe when the teachings of that religion is based on the true word of God which is the bible. I mean solely on the bible not from the imagination and belief of the preacher, pastor, evangelist, priest as the case maybe.
