Could someone please explain? I'm a Christian but I dont hate Jews or Catholics or Mormons etc etc.

AQ gives a false answer that Shia must kill non-Shia Muslims. According to the Quran, which all Muslims follow, it is always a sin to murder another person, and an even worse sin to murder a Muslim.
I have studied both Sunni and Shia belief, a little bit, and there is nothing in Shia religion which advocates violence toward Sunni. It is not a part of mainstream Sunni belief to advocate violence toward Shia either, though some Sunni scholars have declared Shia to be "munafiq" (hypocrites) or idolaters.
In fundamental belief, there is no difference between Sunni and Shia. The hatred stems from historical animosity. It is only through forgiveness and mutual respect that the Muslim people will have unity.
As for where the historical animosity comes from, it is rooted in the murder of Hussein ibn Ali and his family and companions, by the army of Yazid, the "caliph" more than a thousand years ago.

Look, mate, maybe you don't hate other Christian denominations, but you cannot deny that hatred between Christian denominations exists.

However, the issue between Sunnis and Shiites is slightly different: Shiites consider lie as part of their religion, while for Sunnis lying is a major sin. Historical issue started with Shia sparking violence among Muslims. Shia believe that they must kill all non-Shia before the judgement day and they will achieve that through lying and sparking violence among others. Sunnis cannot forget Shiite betrayals through history and don't want to be slaughtered like farm chicken, so they take revenge. There are major differences in their religion, Sunnis being pure monotheists and Shia being polytheist.

I'm a sunni, I live in Malaysia. Our neighbour Indonesia has a couple of shiites. We don't kill or hate each other.
Why are you asking a political question at the same time trying to imply it's a religion thing?

Because they do not have the love of God -- in the same way, why do so-called Christians kill each other? Why do Christians kill moslems? Did not Jesus tell us to love our enemies?

just like the christians in the crusades, killing other christians because the others DID NOT believe they way they did!
and christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group!
